Califor...N...I....A

Okay so my next adventure last year was to California, a place I thought I would never want to go. I was born in Brooklyn -New York and stayed there long enough to have that northern hustle and then raised in the south, a East Coast Girl who was diverse and could fit in anywhere I could get in!
I thought of California as Hollywood, fake boobs, nose jobs, dyed hair (blonde) and falseness - forever young.  Some advice......never close your mind to any place in the whole world.  What you see on TV most times in not true.  Those reality shows are THEIR reality not the real people.  I must admit I have not gone to Hollywood, but I would go one day to have the experience.  And California is a HUGE state with so much to see, do, and offer.  The diversity of the people, especially in San Francisco was amazing.  I can't wait to go back.

We (my best friend and I) started planning this trip in March for a December trip.  We saved money and brought plane tickets early (which can have its disadvantages - but we will talk about that later).  We planned and paid for some activities way in advance but left lots of time for "whatever" and "discovery" time.   Our trip consisted of 3 nights in Napa Valley and 5 nights in San Francisco.

Stay tuned for pictures and details....for anybody who may be reading :)
Keep your mind and soul open to new, memorable, perhaps frightening, life changing moments of traveling.

See you later,

Pittsburgh Steelers

This time last year I was planning to see the number 1 NFL team in America....................
The STEELERS - winner of 6 Super Bowls
In 2011 I went to the game opener of the season, against our nemesis, the dirty birds....Ravens. While there, I made some time to see the Dr. King and Lincoln monument.  I traveled to the monument by train after landing in in Baltimore; the train ride was interesting - an additional way to see the city.  I always make a point to visit other destinations around where I am staying.  Unfortunately the Steelers lost (2011 and 2009), but I had a great time....both times.  I met a lot of new people and probably will not go back to Baltimore again for a game (this was my second time), but I am definitely open to traveling there to visit the sounding areas.
